AI automation uses language models, agents and integrations to handle repetitive work such as enquiries, document processing, data entry and follow-ups. Devsinn scopes one process at a time, fixes the price in GBP before building, delivers focused automations in two to six weeks, and supports them after launch. You own the code.
What you get
Hours back every week
Admin, triage and re-keying move off your team's plate.
Faster replies
Enquiries answered in minutes, day or night, with a human for edge cases.
Fewer errors
Structured data extraction with checks, not copy and paste.
Costs you can predict
A fixed build price and a clear monthly running cost.
35%
of UK businesses with 10 or more staff now use at least one AI technology
Most wins come from work that is frequent, rule-based and text-heavy: answering common enquiries, reading invoices and forms, updating your CRM, drafting replies, booking appointments and chasing payments. If a person follows the same steps more than a few times a day, it is usually a strong candidate for automation.
Customer service: a website or WhatsApp chatbot trained on your own policies, with handover to staff.
Back office: invoices, purchase orders and delivery notes read and posted to Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.
Sales: lead qualification, enrichment and follow-up emails written in your tone.
Operations: scheduling, rota changes and status updates pushed to the right people.
Knowledge: a private AI search over your documents, contracts and procedures.
How much does AI automation cost in the UK?
A focused automation of one process typically starts from £3,500 + VAT. Multi-step AI agents that connect several systems usually start from £8,000 + VAT. Running costs for AI usage and hosting are often tens to low hundreds of pounds a month. We quote a fixed price after a short discovery, before any build starts.

Is AI automation UK GDPR compliant?
It can be, if it is designed that way. We map what personal data each automation touches, use providers with UK GDPR-appropriate terms and data processing agreements, keep data in suitable regions, switch off model training on your data, and log decisions so they can be reviewed. We also tell you where a human should stay in the loop.
The ICO expects organisations to understand and record how personal data flows through AI systems, and to be open with people when AI meaningfully affects them. We write this up as part of every project so you have it for your records.
Data processing agreement in place before any personal data is used.
No training of third-party models on your data by default.
Access controls, audit logs and a documented retention period.

Should we buy a tool or build a custom automation?
Buy when an off-the-shelf tool already does the job well and fits your process. Build when the work spans several systems, needs your own rules or data, or the subscription costs grow with every user. Many projects mix both: an existing tool for the basics and a small custom layer that joins everything up.

How do you make sure the automation actually works?
We agree written acceptance tests before building, using real examples from your business. The automation has to pass them before launch. We then run it alongside your team for a short period, measure accuracy and time saved, and only switch fully over when you are happy with the results.
Test set built from your own past enquiries, documents or records.
Confidence thresholds, so uncertain cases go to a person.
Weekly results during the first month after launch.

Questions people ask
Still unsure? Ask us on a free 20-minute call.
How long does an AI automation project take?
A single automation usually takes two to three weeks from signed scope to launch. Chatbots take three to four weeks, and multi-step AI agents four to six. Discovery before the quote takes about a week. We share a dated plan in the quote so you know exactly when it will go live.
Do we own the code and the automation?
Yes. Once the project is paid for, you own the code, prompts, configuration and documentation we write for you. Accounts for AI providers and hosting are set up in your name where possible, so you are never locked in to us.
Which systems can you connect to?
Most tools with an API: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify, Slack, WhatsApp Business, common booking systems and databases. If a system has no API, we look at email, file or browser-based routes and tell you the trade-offs before you commit.
What happens if the AI gets something wrong?
We design for it. Every automation has confidence checks, so uncertain cases go to a person instead of being guessed. Actions are logged, so mistakes can be traced and corrected, and we tune the system during the first month using real results. High-risk steps keep a human approval by design.
Is our data used to train AI models?
No, not by default. We use business or API tiers of AI providers where your inputs are not used to train their models, and we confirm this in writing for your records. Where data is sensitive, we can also use models hosted in the UK or EU.
What are the running costs after launch?
Running costs are usually AI usage plus hosting, often tens to low hundreds of pounds a month depending on volume. We estimate this in the quote using your real numbers and report actual usage monthly if you take a support plan, so there are no surprises.
Will AI automation replace our staff?
In most small businesses it frees staff from repetitive tasks rather than replacing roles. The ONS found around half of businesses report no AI impact on headcount. We aim to give your team time back for customers and higher-value work.
Do we need an AI roadmap first?
Not always. If you already know the process you want to automate, we can scope it directly. If you are not sure where AI will pay off, our fixed-fee AI Consultant roadmap at £1,950 ranks your opportunities first so you invest in the right one.
