In short

UK law firms can use AI safely for client intake, first-draft documents, summarising bundles and searching precedents, as long as solicitors supervise the output and client data stays confidential. The SRA expects firms to check AI accuracy, protect confidentiality and remain accountable. We build tools on secure, contractually protected services and keep a solicitor reviewing everything that goes to clients.

What you get

  • Quicker intake

Enquiries captured, checked and routed before the first call.

  • Faster first drafts

Standard documents drafted from your precedents.

  • Bundles summarised

Long documents condensed for fee earners to check.

What does the SRA say about AI?

The Solicitors Regulation Authority's Risk Outlook recognises AI can improve efficiency, for example capturing client information before a first meeting. It warns about inaccurate output, confidentiality and accountability: firms must supervise AI, keep client data secure and remain answerable for the work. AI should never be trusted to check its own accuracy.

We design around those expectations: solicitor review before anything reaches a client, providers that do not train on your data, access controls by matter, and logs of what was generated.

Where can a law firm use AI today?

The safest, highest-value uses are client intake and conflict pre-checks, first drafts of standard letters and documents from your own precedents, summarising long documents and bundles, and internal knowledge search. Each saves fee-earner and support time while leaving legal judgement with solicitors.

How do you protect client confidentiality?

We only use AI services with contractual commitments not to train on your data, encrypt data in transit and at rest, restrict access by matter and role, and keep processing in the UK or EU where possible. Nothing goes into public consumer tools. We document the setup for your COLP and data protection lead.

Will AI replace paralegals or trainees?

No. It removes repetitive drafting and searching, so juniors spend more time on work that develops them and serves clients. Firms that use AI well usually handle more matters with the same team rather than cutting staff.

How should a firm measure the benefit?

Track time per matter for the targeted task before and after, alongside error rates found at review. If drafting a standard letter falls from twenty minutes to five with no rise in corrections, the benefit is clear and can be priced into fixed-fee work.

How it works

  1. Free 20-minute call

Your practice areas, systems and bottlenecks.

  2. Roadmap and risk review

Use cases ranked with supervision and data controls.

  3. Pilot

One workflow with one team, measured on real matters.

  4. Roll out

    Training, supervision guidance and support.

A good fit if you

  • High-volume practices such as conveyancing, wills and probate, and PI
  • Commercial teams reviewing many similar contracts
  • Firms with heavy intake and enquiry handling

Not the right fit if you

  • Unsupervised AI advice sent straight to clients
  • Putting client files into free consumer chatbots
  • Firms without a solicitor willing to own the rollout

Questions people ask

Still unsure? Ask us on a free 20-minute call.

Is it safe to use AI with client documents?

Yes, with the right setup. Use services that contractually do not train on your data, restrict access by matter, keep a solicitor reviewing outputs and log usage. Free consumer tools are not suitable for client documents.

Can AI draft legal documents?

AI can produce strong first drafts of standard documents from your own precedents. A solicitor must review and approve every draft. The time saving comes from removing the blank page and repetitive edits, not from removing legal judgement.

How do we supervise AI in line with SRA expectations?

Name a responsible solicitor, set clear rules on approved tools and tasks, require review of all client-facing output, train staff, and keep records. We help you write this supervision framework as part of the roadmap.

Does AI work with our case management system?

Often, yes. Many case management systems have APIs or document integrations. Where they do not, we work with document stores and email. Integration is confirmed during scoping.

How long does a legal AI pilot take?

A focused pilot, such as intake triage or letter drafting for one team, typically runs four to eight weeks from scoping to measured results.

What does it cost?

Our AI roadmap is a fixed £1,950 + VAT, including a risk review for each use case. Builds are quoted at a fixed price after scoping. You own what we deliver.
